Two NMHU Psychology professors earn tenure and promotion

At the end of the 2018 Spring semester, NMHU President, Dr. Sam Minner, notified NMHU Psychology professors Dr. Lara Heflin and Dr. David Pan that they had earned tenure at the university and were to be promoted to Associate Professor for Fall 2018.

Dr. Heflin (BS, Psychology & English – Florida State ’00; MA, Clinical Psychology – University of Southern California ’03; PhD, Clinical Psychology – University of Southern California ’07) joined NMHU in Fall 2012 as a Visiting Professor and as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Fall 2013.

Dr. Pan (BA, Psychology – Stanford ’02; MA, Clinical Psychology – University of Southern California ’06, PhD, Clinical Psychology – University of Southern California ’11) joined NMHU as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Fall 2012.

Between the two of them, they have advised fourteen Psychology graduate students to their Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology/Counseling or General Psychology with a majority of these graduates presenting their original research at conferences such as the Western Psychological Association and the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association. They also recently published a paper together in the journal Psychotherapy Research.
